Suitable Solid Waste Disposal Site Selection Using Geographical Information System: A Case of Debre Markos Town, Ethiopia

In this study an effort has been made to identify suitable sites for safe disposal. For proper identification and selection of appropriate solid waste disposal careful systematic procedures need be adopted followed. The main objective research was identified the site by using GIS-based approaches in Debre markos town. present had considered various factors like road networks; rivers, soil, slope, altitude land use/ cover selecting a within area. relative weights factor were estimated AHP maps developed GIS spatial operations. final weighted map produced overall suitability map. presented four index such as highly suitable, moderately low unsuitable. result shows that around 21% area is site, 25% 28% 26% unsuitable site.
